On February 26, 2025, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the inaugural distribution of cash gifts under the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024. This law provides senior citizens with a ₱10,000 cash gift upon reaching the ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95, in addition to the existing ₱100,000 given to centenarians. The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) identified 7,759 beneficiaries for this initial rollout, with plans to distribute ₱2.9 billion in financial aid to approximately 275,000 senior citizens nationwide this year.
